Whether it hangs on the wall or sits on a shelf, artwork is what makes a house a home. We love fine art of every kind: watercolors, oil paintings, sculptures, mixed media, photography, pastel and charcoal drawings, and prints (dry point, etchings, linocuts, lithography, woodcuts, screenprints, giclee, mezzotint, the list goes on and on!).
Whether it’s artwork from talented amateurs or listed artists, we look for the beautiful, the eye-catching, the unusual, and the pieces that speak to you.
Our location in a historic spa town nestled at the foot of the Adirondacks, mere miles away from state capital and the Hudson River, and just a short jaunt from New York City, means that we see an exceptional variety of estate found artwork: antique European oil paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries; Modernist prints and paintings; Continental European marble, alabaster, or porcelain sculptures; Old Master drawings and prints; prints, drawings, and ceramics from prolific modern artists Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso.
The beautiful mountains, rivers, and lakes of the Adirondacks have inspired artists for generations. One of the artists we come across surprisingly often is Charles Grant Davison, an accomplished landscape painter based in New York City. His watercolors and oil paintings are signed CG Davison and are recognizable for their serene atmosphere and beautiful light. If you’re a fan of this prolific and talented artist, we recommend checking back often!
